About Horizon House of the Illinois Valley

Horizon House, a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization, supports adults with disabilities in North Central Illinois. Operating from two administrative facilities in Peru, Illinois, and overseeing 10 small homes in LaSalle and eastern Bureau counties, Horizon House offers a diverse range of residential and day services, encompassing 24-hour support, intermittent in-home assistance, employment support, and comprehensive day programs.

CILA

People live by themselves, with roommates, or with family members and receive limited support

Respite Services

This program offers support to families caring for a member with a disability at home. Horizon House provides trained respite providers who can visit the family home at convenient times and dates, giving the family a break when needed.

This service, also known as Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional or Service, is available to families in LaSalle, Bureau, Marshall, or Putnam Counties with individuals having developmental disabilities living at home. There are no age restrictions, and the individual receiving services must reside in one of the specified counties.

Respite services are funded through a grant from the Illinois Department of Human Services, making them free for eligible families. The level of service provided is determined based on the unique needs of each family.

NCBHS brinda capacitación en primeros auxilios para la salud mental (MHFA) para personas y organizaciones que buscan educación continua y una comprensión de las enfermedades mentales y cómo responder a las emergencias psiquiátricas.

Primeros auxilios para la salud mental es un curso de 8 horas que le enseña cómo identificar, comprender y responder a los signos de enfermedades mentales y trastornos por uso de sustancias. La capacitación le brinda las habilidades que necesita para comunicarse y brindar ayuda y apoyo iniciales a alguien que pueda estar desarrollando un problema de salud mental o abuso de sustancias o que esté experimentando una crisis.
